Christmas Candy Snack Mix

OK party people, this stuff is the ticket.  Since I couldn’t find a recipe for this dee-lish snack mix online, I had to march myself into the kitchen to whip up a batch.  I was obsessing over it when it appeared the internet was devoid of the world’s most perfect flavor combination.   Tasting is believing!

Only after assembling all the ingredients for this party mash up did I realize that I couldn’t eat the stuff.  This gluten-free diet is getting in the way of my Christmas snackin’!  I still haven’t come to grips with the fact that I won’t be able to enjoy my favorite holiday fruitcake this year, but I will soldier on.  I am actually pretty proud of myself for not eating this, considering Golden Grahams have been my favorite cereal since birth.  Bite size cookies in a bowl with milk?  What’s not to love??

This whole thing started with my party mix roundup, which got me thinkin’ about snackin’.  I also couldn’t find a recipe similar to the new super awesome popcorn treat I found in Seattle – Kukuruzu Coconut Macaroon Popcorn.  Seriously, it is a good thing I don’t live in Seattle because I can feel my hips widening from here.  Yowza!  This stuff is the crack.  Along with the Christmas Candy Crack I just got you addicted to.  Yep, I am a dealer.  But hey, if I am going down, I am taking each and every one of you with me.

Heretofore known as:

“Christmas Candy Crack”

Combine in a large bowl:

– 4 cups of Golden Grahams Cereal

– 4 cups of salted Mini Pretzels

– 1 cup salted peanuts

– 1 1/4 cup Craisins or any dried cranberries

Melt 10 oz white chocolate (I used Trader Joe’s white chocolate chips) and stir in 1/8 tsp cinnamon and the zest from one orange.  Pour over mixture and stir to coat.  Spread onto baking sheet and sprinkle with Christmas colored decorating nonpareils (festive, but optional).  Chill in fridge until chocolate hardens, then break apart into chunks.  Store in an air tight container if there is any left over!

Enjoy!
