Farewell party- From Postcards to Paper Planes

I had fun dressing up the table for this party! Take a look…

Oh Etsy, you take such good care of me.  I found these super cute planes punched out of maps for great table confetti from Saltbox Paperie.  I cut a few luggage tag shapes out of orange craft paper for some fun contrast.  Color inspiration of tonal monochromatic blues, orange and white came from some great scrap-booking paper used to make cupcake holders.

Who knew it was so difficult to get European postcards locally in honor of their trip?  Go figure!  Maybe these can be the reminder they need to return home.

Some of my folding handiwork.  Note to self… don’t use 100lb paper for origami.

Bird’s eye view.  I was hoping my icing would be reminiscent of clouds – these must be those high level cirrus type.  It was some consolation that they tasted like heaven, no thanks to me.  As I always say, I can bake cuz I can read… which clearly does not apply to icing.  I’m going to cut myself some slack here, since I can’t remember icing anything since helping my Aunt Edna at the tender age of about 8.  I know I was young, because of my endless fascination with her salt and pepper shaker collection.  Who knows, maybe these small pleasures would still fascinate…
