Fabulous trunk or treat Halloween fun!

Who knew how popular trunk or treating was?!?  I had never even heard of it until this morning when I was perusing the creative and always entertaining anti-Adultitis blog, Escape Adulthood.  It turns out communities all across the country are tricking out their trunks, and having a ball while doing it.  Now why didn’t we do this when I was growing up?

For those of us bound to remote and desolate geography growing up in rural areas this would have solved myriad Halloween logistical challenges.  First and foremost, we would have been able to see what all the other kids were wearing – mucho importante!  And it would have been very evident which families and neighbors were participating, instead of trying to tell if people were home based on the recent glow of the TV in an otherwise darkened house.

Yes, this is the perfect way for a community or neighborhood to get together so everyone can join in on the fun.  Cars aren’t just for driving anymore.  Nope, now you can turn that hunk of tin or luxury driving mobile into a funhouse of whimsy or darkness.  Your choice.  Not only do you get to showcase your crafty or macabre side, you can serve it up with a side of tasty home made treats!  Since you are amongst friends, no worries about eating these bad boys.

Homemade Halloween treats have gotten way more gourmet than the days of breaking your teeth on a rock hard popcorn ball!  With duds, no less!   Last year I whipped up a batch of caramel apples and they were dee-lish, not to mention popular if I do say so myself.  Now, to concoct a similarly successful treat for this year’s activities…  Hope you find a few ideas to make your Halloween a spooktacular success!
